“The only wealth you get to keep is that which you give away.” These words define B. Thomas Golisano’s legacy as an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and founder of Paychex, Inc. In 2024, Golisano gifted $500 million to over 120 nonprofits, including a $2 million unrestricted gift to the American Cancer Society Golisano Hope Lodge, bringing his lifetime support of the American Cancer Society to $6 million.
In 1985, Tom established the Golisano Foundation to champion dignity and inclusion for all. Over the years, he has left an indelible mark across his home communities in Upstate New York and Southwest Florida with more than $860M in lifetime giving to a broad spectrum of issues, including healthcare, education, hospitals disability services, and animal welfare.
