I am greatly inspired by researchers who are dedicated to saving lives and helping alleviate the suffering of cancer survivors and their families. Whether through groundbreaking discoveries or addressing the needs of marginalized populations, these researchers are making a significantly positive impact on the cancer burden in the United States. I aspire to contribute to this cause by conducting research that can help to save the lives of cancer survivors and reduce the burden that cancer inflicts upon the world."
As a Postdoctoral Fellow in Cancer Epidemiology, Prevention, and Survivorship, Shamim Shahi, PhD, MS, works on breast cancer etiology and survivorship under the mentorship of Lauren Teras, PhD, and Clara Bodelon, PhD, in Population Science at the American Cancer Society (快猫短视频).
Using her background in Molecular Biology and Epidemiology, Shahi investigates the association between per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and breast cancer incidence and the association between the cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) genotype and breast cancer survival.
